Italian cities begin night-time road resurfacing projects

The municipality of Palermo announced a three‑month programme to replace the asphalt on five heavily trafficked streets near the city centre. Work will be carried out at night from 22:00 to 05:00 to minimise disruption, with temporary traffic and parking restrictions, and is expected to last about 90 days. The project is part of a broader road‑maintenance plan aimed at improving safety and the appearance of the urban network.

In Pesaro, the city continues its extraordinary road‑maintenance programme ahead of the summer break. Night‑time paving was completed on Via De Gasperi, while work proceeds on Via Andrea Costa. The plan, budgeted at €4 million for roughly 50 streets in 2026, will pause from 7 to 23 August and resume on 24 August. Officials stress that the works enhance safety, support local industry and reduce traffic inconvenience.
