Italian cities Bolzano and Pescara address urban safety, graffiti and planning reforms

In Bolzano, Mayor Claudio Corrarati met with the Centro‑Piani‑Rencio neighbourhood council to discuss the removal of concrete anti‑terrorism barriers, a new anti‑graffiti programme and noise concerns in Piazza delle Erbe. The council cited the Walther square model, where barriers were replaced with flowerbeds, and presented fifteen concrete measures to curb vandalism.

In Pescara, the municipal council approved a new urban‑planning framework for the Fontanelle district, presented by Lega councillor Andrea Salvati. The plan seeks to replace an expired zoning scheme, revitalize historic sites such as the San Pietro Martire church and Palazzo Baronale, and outline steps for sustainable redevelopment of the neighbourhood.
