Italian cities host inclusive basketball debut and street‑basket tournament on June 21
On 21 June 2026 two separate basketball events took place in Italy. In Reggio Calabria, the "Centro Viola Massimo Mazzetto" hosted the first official inclusive‑basketball (Baskin) match, pitting Aleandre Basket RC against SSR Inclusion ME. The game emphasized participation and integration of athletes with and without disabilities, and was open to the public as a showcase for the growing sport.
In Reggio Emilia, the ex‑Reggiane venue hosted the fifth edition of the 4‑vs‑4 street‑basket circuit "Not in My House". The women’s team "Marca chi ti marca" captured the title with MVP Chiara Giacchetti, while the men’s side "Grazie Peppo" won, led by MVP Riccardo Taddei. The event concluded with a dunk contest won by Benjamin "Air" Turner, judged by local officials including the mayor of Castellarano.
