Italian cities launch extensive road resurfacing projects in Florence and Ferrara

On July 14, Florence began a series of asphalt works on Viale della Toscana, closing several streets and establishing one‑way traffic and detour routes until mid‑July, with additional water‑network connections on Via Lungo il Mugnone and Lungarno Vespucci. The works, part of a municipal infrastructure upgrade, will affect traffic flow in key areas and are scheduled to finish by early August.

A day later, Ferrara started resurfacing Corso Giovecca from Via Caneva to Via Montebello/Terranuova. The project includes night‑time work due to high daytime temperatures, a one‑way traffic scheme, and temporary closures of access points to the Cittadella San Rocco and the CAU. Detour routes are provided, and the works aim to restore safe road conditions.

Both cities advise motorists to follow signage and plan journeys in advance to avoid delays.
