Italian cities launch urban revitalization projects in Cosenza and Messina
In Italy, local initiatives are focusing on the revitalization of public spaces and social infrastructure. In Cosenza, the organization Social Builders is resuming activities at Parco Emilio Morrone. Following a collaboration pact with the Municipality of Cosenza, the group is launching a participatory process, inviting citizens to submit ideas and needs via an online form to shape future interventions. Proposed projects include new installations, a dog park, and improved waste management.
In Messina, Mayor Federico Basile and Messina Servizi administrator Giuseppe Laface inspected the Don Bosco institute, which the municipality has leased to host the Messina Social City services. While technical offices finalize internal maintenance plans, the administration is prioritizing the maintenance of external green areas to open the gardens to the public as soon as possible. The project aims to restore the site as a community landmark for the Lombardo district.
