Italian cities move ahead with stadium upgrades and management agreements

The municipality of Sassari, together with the Torres football club, announced the start of works to replace the turf at the Vanni Sanna stadium. The project, timed for June planting, aims to improve the playing surface after heavy rains compacted the ground, and is supported by local sport and public works authorities.

In Bari, municipal technicians conducted an inspection of the San Nicola stadium following the expiry of its concession to SSC Bari. The city is preparing to reclaim the venue, with the mayor and club president set to discuss the stadium’s industrial plan and future concert use while negotiations continue over a new five‑year concession.

Both initiatives reflect Italian local governments’ efforts to maintain and modernise football facilities for their clubs and communities.
