Italian cities Pescara and San Benedetto del Tronto begin extensive road resurfacing

In Pescara, municipal authorities and utility company Terna have issued an ordinance for road refurbishment beginning on Monday. Works will resurface the pavement and replace signage on Vecchia Fontanelle, Via Salara Vecchia and the municipal road Piana, with traffic bans, no‑stop zones and pedestrian corridors in place. The first phase runs from 22 June to 10 July, after which additional streets – Via Tronto, Via Trigno and Via Aterno – will be treated.

In San Benedetto del Tronto, crews started on 19 June to overhaul ten streets in the Sentina district, including Via del Gabbiano, Via della Pizzarda and Via Don Primo Mazzolari. The work, scheduled through the middle of the week, involves temporary traffic reductions, one‑way alternations and enforced parking bans on several bays. Both projects are part of broader municipal road‑maintenance programmes aimed at improving surface quality and safety for residents and motorists.
