Italian cities strengthen ties with Baltic nations
Italian cities are strengthening institutional and economic ties with Baltic nations through new diplomatic and cultural initiatives.
In Trapani, Mayor Giacomo Tranchida met with the Latvian Ambassador, Elita Gavele, to begin discussions regarding a memorandum of cooperation. The meeting, held during the inauguration of the ‘Rivolta Femminile’ contemporary art exhibition, focused on potential collaboration in culture, classical music, and theater to bridge the distance between the two communities.
Meanwhile, in Trieste, a new honorary consulate for Lithuania has been inaugurated. Attended by Lithuanian Ambassador Dalia Kreiviene, the opening aims to provide services to Lithuanian citizens and bolster institutional relations between the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and the Baltic area. Discussions during the ceremony highlighted existing logistical and economic connections, specifically focusing on the maritime relationship between the ports of Trieste and Klaipeda.
