Italian cities upgrade urban parks with new playgrounds and safety features

The municipality of Rome’s Ninth District inaugurated a renovated "La Porta di Valentina" park in the Torrino‑Mezzacammino area on 6 July. The renovation added a modernized zip‑line, new playground equipment, anti‑trauma flooring and an outdoor fitness zone, aiming to improve safety and inclusivity for families.

In Fiorano Modenese, the Villa Pace park completed an extensive refurbishment that involved tree health assessments, removal of hazardous vegetation, reshaping of hedges, pruning of magnolias, and the replacement of damaged wooden benches. The project, costing over €24,000, was highlighted as a vital climate‑resilient space for residents during the recent heat wave.
