Italian citizens honored for lifesaving rescues in Orbetello and Treviso

In Orbetello, two Carabinieri marshals, Giovanni Adamo and Teresa Assunta Abbate, received a municipal commendation for rescuing a woman who was drowning in the Feniglia lagoon on 28 June. Despite recent surgery, Adamo swam 120 metres to reach the victim, and Abbate coordinated first‑aid and called emergency services, bringing the woman safely to shore.

In Treviso, Questore Alessandra Simone publicly thanked two young residents, Francesco and Christina, for their swift actions during a fire on 25 July. Francesco entered the burning apartment and rescued a woman, her co‑habitant, and the couple’s dog, while Christina alerted emergency services and helped evacuate the building. Their actions were praised as exemplary civic bravery.

Both municipalities highlighted the importance of altruism and quick response in protecting community members.
