Italian Civil Protection Tests Emergency Radio Network in Como Province

The Civil Protection of the Province of Como successfully completed a coverage test of its emergency radio network across the entire provincial area. Volunteers were positioned at strategic sites such as Borgo Vico, Erba, Monte Cornizzolo, Monte Bisbino, Monte San Primo, Monte Galbiga, Sommafiume, Dongoe, and Gera Lario to verify communications. Province President Fiorenzo Bongiasca praised the volunteers and emphasized prevention as the primary tool for handling emergencies.

In the same region, the “Prima del fuoco” meeting in Martano, organized by Fondazione Sylva with the support of the Province of Lecce, launched a “Patto per la prevenzione.” The event gathered local officials, technical experts, and Carabinieri representatives. Fabio Tarantino, president of the Province of Lecce and mayor of Martano, highlighted the need to strengthen the Civil Protection network and invest in specialized volunteer training to improve rapid response capabilities.
