The club joins other Italian teams such as Milano, Trento, Venezia, Tortona, Napoli, and the two Roma sides that will be active in European cups.

In Serie A, a month after the transfer window opened, clubs' financial balances show a steep spending race. Fiorentina posted the worst net balance at €‑82.45 million, followed by AC Milan at €‑62.85 million, Napoli at €‑49.80 million, Juventus at €‑43.55 million, Roma at €‑21.70 million, and Inter at €‑14.50 million.
