Italian clubs Empoli and Napoli resume pre‑season training
Empoli will restart training tomorrow, focusing on monitoring the fitness of players recovering from injuries such as Salvatore Elia and Duccio Degli Innocenti, as well as Ceesay and Belardinelli. The club will use a 3‑4‑2‑1 formation that was trialled in the recent 1‑1 draw with Spezia and will play its final summer friendly against Livorno before the official season begins with a Coppa Italia match in Pisa. Player movements include the pending transfer of Gabriele Guarino to Turkey, the gradual reintegration of Simone Romagnoli, and the expected renewal of Romagnoli’s contract.
SSC Napoli released a report on its morning session at the Teofilo Patini stadium in Castel di Sangro. The team carried out warm‑up, possession drills and speed exercises, but goalkeeper Alisson Santos did not join the group drills, remaining on the bench as part of a personalized recovery program. Coach Massimiliano Allegri’s staff emphasized precaution to avoid muscle strain before Alisson returns to full training.
