Catanzaro names Marco Turati as new head coach
Italian Serie B side US Catanzaro has confirmed the appointment of Marco Turati as its new head coach on a two‑year contract. Turati, who led Siracusa to promotion from Serie D before a points‑deduction‑induced relegation, will take over a club that has struggled with managerial turnover in recent seasons.
Alongside Turati, the club has unveiled his technical staff: vice‑coach Fernando Spinelli, athletic trainer Walter Buccherie, match analyst Gabriele Caruso, and goalkeeping coach Massimo Lorieri, with several other assistants confirmed from his previous spell at Siracusa. Turati holds a UEFA A licence and may need to secure the UEFA Pro licence to meet Serie B requirements.
Earlier speculation linked Turati to the Empoli vacancy, but his commitment to Catanzaro has ended that rumor. The club awaits only formal paperwork to finalize the deal, after which Turati will implement his preferred 4‑2‑3‑1/4‑3‑3 systems aimed at balancing defensive solidity with attacking intensity.
