Italian clubs Juventus and Roma under pressure to meet financial fair play rules
Juventus is racing to finish its transfer business before the end of June, aiming to generate the required plus‑valenze and avoid a slowdown caused by the North American market. The club has received few offers for its key players, the Dibu Martínez deal is stalled at €10 million, and it is looking for forward‑playing signings with “straight backs” to rebuild the squad.
AS Roma also faces a June 30 deadline to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play limits. The club is weighing two options: create roughly €20‑25 million in plus‑valenze, possibly by selling midfielder Matías Soulé, or negotiate a one‑year extension of its repayment plan with UEFA, which would allow it to retain more of its roster while counting Champions League revenue.
Both clubs aim to meet the financial constraints without compromising their competitive projects for the upcoming season.
