Italian clubs unveil summer coaching appointments and transfer moves

Basketball and water‑polo see new head coaches as the 2026‑27 season approaches. Maria Chiara Scaramuccia takes charge of the Terme Salus Viterbo women’s team in Serie B, while Luca Tosi is appointed head coach of Sport Center Parma’s women’s Serie A2 water‑polo squad.

Football clubs across the country are active in the summer market. Arezzo sign central defender Julian Illanes and full‑back Marlon Mena Martinez from Sassuolo; other moves include numerous loans and permanent deals listed by clubs such as Padova, Verona, Venezia, Cittadella, Südtirol, Vicenza and Campobasso. Roma begin their pre‑season camp on 13 July with a reduced squad of 13 out‑field players, while the women’s side under Gianpiero Piovani will train from 16 July in Rome before a retreat in Dimaro Folgarida and a series of friendlies.

Genoa start their season on 9 July, with captain Joan Vasquez expected to join after the World Cup and a schedule of friendly matches in Italy and England. Overall, Italian sports organisations are finalising staff appointments and player rosters ahead of the new competitive season.
