Lazio modifies summer camp, grants players home stay before season

Head coach Rino Gattuso has altered Lazio’s pre‑season training programme. After an intense first week focused on tactics, gym work and limited ball time, the squad received a half‑day rest on Wednesday.

On Friday a team barbecue was held at the Formello camp to foster cohesion, and players were allowed to return home on Monday for a night with their families. The first phase of the camp runs from 18 July to 26 July, after which training resumes on 29 July and continues until 9 August, with compulsory lunch and dinner at Formello and optional overnight accommodation.

Gattuso said the changes aim to reward the squad’s effort, balance “carrot and stick” methods, and keep the group focused ahead of the upcoming season.
