Italian coastal authorities fine violators in Bari and Alghero

In Alghero, the regional “Barracelli” patrol issued a series of high parking fines to tourists in the Cala Porticciolo area. The fines were justified under an April 2026 ordinance aimed at protecting the natural park from fire risk. The incident sparked online criticism and drew comments from commander Riccardo Paddeu and Forza Italia deputy Marco Tedde, who condemned threats against the officers and called for dialogue on balancing environmental protection with the needs of disabled drivers.
