Italian communities hold ceremonies for 82nd anniversary of Resistance milestones

Various Italian communities held ceremonies to mark the 82nd anniversary of historical events related to the end of Nazi-fascist rule and the Resistance.

In Luino, authorities, military associations, and students gathered to commemorate the martyrs of the Gera di Voldomino massacre, which occurred on October 7, 1944. The ceremony included a procession, the laying of wreaths at local monuments, and a service at the votive chapel dedicated to the martyrs. Mayor Andrea Pellicini emphasized the importance of remembering those who died for democracy and freedom.

In Bagno di Romagna, specifically in San Piero in Bagno, ceremonies were held to celebrate the 82nd anniversary of the liberation from Nazi-fascism, which took place on September 26, 1944. Local officials, including Mayor Enrico Spighi, joined students and the Anpi Alto Savio association to honor the historical significance of the event. The commemorations focused on the responsibility of younger generations to protect and exercise the freedoms gained during that period.
