Italian communities hold farewell ceremonies for departing clergy

Several Italian communities held farewell ceremonies for departing clergy and religious sisters. In Castano Primo, the community organized a large celebration for former parish priest Don Piero Visconti and Sisters Maria, Gabriella, and Anna. The event included a procession, a mass, and community gatherings involving local schools, sports associations, and civic organizations to thank them for their service to the Santo Crocifisso Pastoral Community.

In Barbara, residents gathered for a mass to bid farewell to parish priest Don Paolo Montesi, who is scheduled to begin a new assignment in Monteporzio, Castelvecchio, on October 23. The ceremony included thanks from Mayor Massimo Chiù and local associations. Don Montesi, who served the community for six years, received gifts including a photo album and a statue of Saint Barbara. The community is preparing for the arrival of the new parish priest, Don Paolo Campolucci, on September 27.
