Various Italian communities are holding ceremonies to commemorate historical tragedies.

In Marsala, the Lions Club, with municipal patronage, is organizing a ceremony at Baluardo Velasco to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The event will include readings by students from ITET “Garibaldi” and speeches by Lions Club President Ignazio Urso and Mayor Andreana Patti. The ceremony aims to promote dialogue, peace, and the importance of passing historical memory to younger generations.

In Soverato, Unitalsi is observing a day of remembrance for the thirteen victims of the Le Giare tragedy. This event marks 26 years since a flash flood from the Beltrame torrent struck the Le Giare campsite on September 10, 2000, during a period of extreme weather in Calabria. A ceremony will be held at the Turrati locality monument to honor those lost and reflect on territorial safety.
