Italian communities host events to celebrate Grandparents' Day
Various community initiatives in Italy are celebrating Grandparents' Day through local events and charitable gestures.
In Brindisi, the municipality and the Fondazione Nuovo Teatro Verdi are organizing ‘Festeggiamo i Nonni’ at the Teatro Impero. The event, hosted by Gianni Ippolito, will feature a concert by Gennaro Gargarelli, Mimmo Russi, and Italo Perez, performing Italian and Neapolitan classics. The celebration aims to honor the vital role grandparents play in family life and provides free admission and gifts for attendees.
In Casalbuttano, the association Bi. Genitori organized a tribute for seniors at the Centro Ricreativo Anni d’Argento. Supported by donations from Iris Bio, the association distributed organic pasta and tomato sauce to the center's visitors. Association president Massimo Brugnini emphasized that grandparents represent a fundamental human and social heritage, serving as a source of memory and experience for the community.
