Italian communities launch free language courses for foreign residents

Various community initiatives in Italy are launching free Italian language courses aimed at supporting foreign residents and fostering social integration.

In Primaluna, the “N.O.O.R. – Una luce per le donne migranti” project, promoted by the association Les Cultures with support from Intesa Sanpaolo and CESVI, will begin on October 13. Held at the former elementary schools of Barcone, the program offers lessons every Tuesday and Thursday. To assist mothers, a babysitting service will be provided during class hours. The initiative aims to promote autonomy and social inclusion for migrant women across five municipalities.

In Pedaso, Caritas is organizing a free Italian course starting October 7 at the local Oratory. Supported by the Diocesan Caritas and the Municipality of Pedaso, the program offers morning and afternoon sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays. The course is designed to provide essential linguistic tools to help foreign citizens navigate daily life, such as interacting with medical professionals, schools, and public offices, as well as facilitating entry into the workforce.
