Italian communities organize events for Grandparents' Day

Various community initiatives are being organized in Italy to celebrate Grandparents' Day (Festa dei Nonni) on October 2.

In Verona, the 2026 celebrations will focus on cinema to foster intergenerational bonds. The program includes a free afternoon at five community cinemas, featuring a national preview of the stop-motion animated film ‘I racconti del giardino incantato’. Participants will also be provided with snacks sponsored by Matilde Vicenzi and Zuegg.

In Trino, the APSP Sant’Antonio Abate facility is hosting events under the patronage of the local municipality. The celebration includes a culinary workshop on September 29, where residents will prepare traditional cookies. These sweets will be shared during a celebratory afternoon on October 2, accompanied by live musical entertainment to promote socialization and honor the experience of the elderly.
