Italian communities prepare for traditional San Giovanni festivals
Various communities in Italy are preparing for traditional celebrations dedicated to San Giovanni.
In Savignano sul Rubicone, the parish committee of San Giovanni in Compito is organizing festivities from September 3 to September 6. The program includes religious ceremonies such as a procession with an image of the Madonna and solemn masses at the millennium-old Pieve. Cultural activities feature dialect comedy, performances by the Argentine group Caiman, and music by the David Pacini orchestra, alongside local gastronomy.
In Pabillonis, the Classe 1976 committee is hosting celebrations for San Giovanni Battista. The event combines faith and tradition with a schedule of masses, processions, and folk music. Civil festivities include concerts, fireworks, a running race, and a lottery, as well as a “Cinema under the stars” series organized during the summer.
