Italian community initiatives celebrate autumn harvest through inclusion and art
Various community initiatives in Italy have recently focused on the autumn harvest through themes of inclusion and education.
In the Raboso Piave region, the 22nd Inclusive Harvest was held in collaboration with the Associazione Italiana Persone Down (AIPD) – Marca Trevigiana section. Since 2005, this annual event has used the local Raboso grape harvest to foster community belonging and autonomy for individuals with disabilities. Participants engaged in grape harvesting, pressing, and using traditional presses. The project includes a follow-up in the spring for bottling and labeling the wine, a tradition that has previously reached the Vinitaly exhibition.
In Andria, the Jannuzzi - Di Donna Institute hosted the ‘Arte in Vigna’ (Art in the Vineyard) event. The school garden was transformed into a seasonal space featuring student-made decorations. The initiative involved students, families, and local organizations such as the Rotary Club ‘Castelli Svevi’ to celebrate the harvest through traditional grape picking, music, and artistic workshops, emphasizing the connection between education and local agricultural traditions.
