Italian community organizations celebrate major anniversaries

Several community organizations in Italy are marking significant anniversaries with local events.

The Pro loco association in Merone will celebrate 35 years of activity on October 21. Founded in 1991 by Antonio Molina, the association has been a staple of the community for decades. Current president Mario Cesana has issued an appeal for generational renewal, seeking younger volunteers to ensure the organization's future and potentially elect a new board of directors. Upcoming activities include a food stand at the Festa dello Sport on September 12 and an event for the local nursery on the following weekend.

In Valsassina, the LILT branch in Primaluna is celebrating 15 years of providing oncological prevention services. To mark the milestone, a series of community events have been scheduled, including a concert by the Corpo Musicale Santa Cecilia on September 6, a guided tour of the Cortabbio mines and community lunch on September 27, and a musical evening featuring the choir 'Vous de la Valgranda' on October 11.
