Italian community sports clubs wrap up successful seasons

The Palazzetto Popolare di Pellaro (Csi) in Reggio Calabria concluded its season with a highly attended PBK 5‑vs‑5 basketball tournament, highlighting the venue’s role as a community hub for sports, cultural events and restorative‑justice programmes. The centre also hosts over‑60 gymnastics classes and serves local schools and associations, with plans to showcase the model at a Reggio event in September.

In Tolentino, ASD Pallanuoto Tolentino reported a season of growth across swimming and water‑polo. Athletes earned regional titles in the 100 m mixed, 100 m backstroke and 200 m mixed events, while the women’s water‑polo team placed third in the national Serie B league. Youth swimmers received national call‑ups, and the club’s senior men’s team secured its Serie C status. The club emphasised its development programmes for children and teenagers, positioning the local pool “G. Caporicci” as a key training site.
