Italian companies shift focus to employee wellbeing and flexible work

Italian companies are increasingly focusing on employee wellbeing and flexible work models to retain talent. According to a survey by Sesame HR, implementing a shorter work week requires structural organizational changes rather than just reducing hours. Without streamlining administrative processes—which currently consume over 40% of HR teams' time for 63.7% of respondents—a shorter week may simply increase pressure on staff.

In a parallel shift toward corporate welfare, 70% of Italian companies have adopted or plan to adopt ‘restorative travel’ services to support employee regeneration. Data indicates that 68% of the global workforce now prioritizes work-life balance over salary as a key driver for company loyalty. With smart working adopted by 79.3% of firms, the focus is shifting toward personalizing benefits and promoting a culture of conscious disconnection and deep work.
