Italian Court Confirms Life Sentence for Olbia Murderer

The Italian Court of Cassation has upheld a life sentence for Davide Iannelli for the murder of Tony Cozzolino in Olbia. The crime occurred on March 11, 2022, in via Petta, stemming from long-standing personal and residential disputes within a condominium.

According to the judicial reconstruction, Iannelli doused Cozzolino in gasoline and set him on fire, causing fatal burns. The court reviewed video footage documenting the attack as a key piece of evidence. While the life sentence was confirmed, the defense successfully secured the exclusion of the premeditation aggravating factor.
