Italian courts impose residence bans in domestic violence and stalking cases

A court in Isola Capo Rizzuto ordered a 45‑year‑old woman, already subject to an electronic monitoring bracelet, to observe a residence ban after investigations linked her to alleged beatings and assaults on minor children. The measure, coordinated by the Procura of Crotone and carried out by Carabinieri, adds an extra layer of protection for the victims while the case remains in the preliminary investigation stage.

In Umbria, a husband and wife accused of stalking an 82‑year‑old neighbor and her disabled son were refused an electronic bracelet by a judge, who instead imposed a residence ban in the municipality of San Giustino. To comply, the couple temporarily relocated to a hotel in Città di Castello while the prosecution continues its inquiry into repeated threats, harassment and other abusive actions.
