Italian courts impose electronic bracelets and restraining orders in domestic cases

Italian judges have issued a series of precautionary measures in several domestic‑violence‑related investigations. In Naples, a judge ordered the parents of 14‑year‑old Martina Carbonaro, murdered in May 2025, to wear electronic bracelets and keep a distance from the family of the confessed killer, Alessio Tucci. Their lawyer, Sergio Pisani, argues the alleged threats were isolated outbursts.

Similar restrictions were applied elsewhere. A 31‑year‑old woman in Sorrento received a restraining order and an electronic bracelet after allegedly stalking and assaulting an ex‑partner with an AirTag‑tracked motorcycle. In Valfabbrica, a 35‑year‑old man was arrested when his bracelet alarm signaled a breach of a court‑imposed no‑approach order toward his spouse. The Carabinieri’s rapid response was coordinated by a central monitoring unit.

Other precautionary actions included house arrests with electronic monitoring for a woman in Teramo accused of threatening a psychiatrist, and the suspension of a former treasurer of the CRAL in Potenza pending fraud investigations, accompanied by a €331 k asset seizure. A 68‑year‑old man in Cremona was detained for illegal water and electricity theft, highlighting broader law‑enforcement activity against violent and abusive conduct.
