Italian courts order custody for men convicted of stalking and related crimes
In Bologna, a 31‑year‑old man was placed in pre‑trial detention after the judge approved a custodial order. Prosecutors said he stalked his former partner, used electronic devices to track her movements and even wore a wig to follow her unseen. He also faced charges of embezzlement and vandalism after refusing to return and damaging the woman's car.
In Naples, a 47‑year‑old man linked to a local Camorra clan was also detained following a custodial order. Investigators said he harassed and beat the new partner of a woman connected to organized crime, robbed the victim of a motorcycle helmet and forced the victim to flee abroad. Both cases were investigated by the Carabinieri and involved court‑issued custody measures pending further trial.
