Italian craft associations urge reform of framework law

Italian craft associations are calling for the modernization of the framework law on craftsmanship, which has remained largely unchanged since 1985. The proposed reform aims to update regulations to reflect current market, technological, and organizational realities.

Franco Risi, President of Confartigianato Campania, emphasized that the reform should provide clear and modern rules that allow artisan businesses to grow, invest, and innovate without losing their traditional identity. He noted that the goal is to improve competitiveness through skills, training, and productivity.

Dario Costantini, President of the CNA, expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s commitment to completing the reform. He stated that updating the discipline is essential for the 'Made in Italy' sector, as it will help create better conditions for investment, increase productivity, and make skilled trades more attractive to new generations.
