Italian craft beer celebrates 30 years with festivals and local traditions

The Italian craft beer sector is approaching a major milestone in 2026, marking 30 years of industry evolution. Since its emergence as a niche market in the 1990s, the sector has grown into a recognized component of Italy's gastronomic culture, characterized by hundreds of breweries and a focus on local ingredients such as citrus, chestnuts, and aromatic herbs.

In celebration of this growth and the craft beer movement, the event ‘La Corte dei Luppoli’ will take place in Galatina from August 14 to 16, 2026. As part of the festivities, the ‘Aspettando La Corte dei Luppoli’ initiative will offer guided historical walks through the center of Galatina. Led by regional guides, these tours will visit landmarks including Porta Luce, Piazza Alighieri, and the Basilica of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria, concluding at the event area for music and tastings.
