Italian culinary and wine events showcase regional excellence

In Condove, students from the Formont Valsusa hospitality school participated in the 36th edition of the Fiera della Toma. The first-year class prepared the event's signature dish, Risotto alla Toma, while other students provided catering services and prepared traditional biscuits. The initiative aimed to bridge theoretical education with professional practice.

Separately, the Venice International Wine Trophy concluded in Lonigo at the headquarters of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Colli Berici e Vicenza. The competition utilized blind tastings to ensure impartiality, with judges evaluating wines based solely on intrinsic characteristics. Notable performances were recorded by wines from Calabria and Sicily, which competed alongside established viticultural regions. Top honors included the Gondola Gran Menzione Oro, awarded to various selections including AA Colvendrà Refrondolo Passito 2017 and Kristalvin Pinot Grigio 2025.
