Italian culinary programs launch new seasons exploring regional gastronomy
New seasons of Italian culinary programs are launching, focusing on regional gastronomy and local traditions.
Gimmi Restaurant is debuting a new season of ‘Viaggio in Italia’ starting in Puglia. On September 10, 2026, at the Chiostro dei Domenicani in Lecce, sommelier Ilaria De Filippis and executive chef Donato Episcopo will host a tasting event. The program aims to explore Italian regions through iconic wine labels and seasonal cuisine, beginning with a menu featuring regional specialties such as burrata di Andria and Primitivo di Manduria.
On Food Network, the program ‘Ci vediamo al bar’ returns on September 3, hosted by Giusi Battaglia and Paolo Briguglia. This season focuses on the Messinese area in southeastern Sicily, including the Aeolian Islands, Milazzo, and Capo D'Orlando. The show explores local bar culture and unique sweets, such as lulù and pignolata, while also highlighting towns like Santa Teresa di Riva and Furci Siculo that were previously affected by severe weather.
