Italian cultural events celebrate Pinocchio and Carlo Collodi

Various cultural events in Italy are set to celebrate the legacy of Pinocchio and author Carlo Collodi. In Pisa, the 'Vicoli e Vetrine' natural shopping center will host 'Pisa, Pinocchio e il Borgo dei Balocchi' on October 3, 2026. The event features cosplay, themed games, and a dedicated area for sweets. A highlight of the celebration includes an award for actor Andrea Balestri, recognized for his iconic portrayal of Pinocchio in the classic television series directed by Luigi Comencini.

Additionally, the third edition of the 'Festival delle Storie' will take place in Camerata Picena from October 9 to 11, 2026. This year's festival is dedicated to Pinocchio to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Carlo Collodi's birth. The three-day program includes school-focused activities, creative workshops, theater performances, book presentations, and reading stations in Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
