Italian cultural events celebrate Pinocchio in Pistoia and Pisa

Various cultural events in Tuscany are celebrating the literary legacy of Pinocchio.

In Pistoia, the Biblioteca San Giorgio will host an exhibition by artist Simone Cioni titled ‘Dante e Pinocchio: un cammino della coscienza’. The show explores the connection between the Divine Comedy and Pinocchio, using oil paintings to depict 33 episodes from Dante and acrylics for 20 chapters of Collodi’s work. The exhibition runs until October 30.

In Pisa, the Museo di Palazzo Reale will feature a musical performance by the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, featuring actor and comedian Paolo Hendel. Part of the ‘Musica e Danza nei Musei Nazionali di Pisa’ series, the event offers an ironic and visionary musical reinterpretation of the Pinocchio story.
