Italian cultural events honor Nobel laureates Deledda and Fo

Various cultural events in Italy are commemorating the legacies of Nobel Prize-winning authors.

In Sardinia, the ‘Un anno con Grazia’ film series at Cinema Solaris explores the connection between the works of Grazia Deledda and cinema. The program celebrates the centenary of her Nobel Prize, featuring films such as Peter Marcias’ ‘Quasi Grazia’ (2025) and the 1916 adaptation of ‘Cenere’ starring Eleonora Duse.

In Grosseto, the ‘Dune in Città’ series includes a reading performance of ‘Una donna sola’ by Dario Fo and Franca Rame at the Museo di storia naturale della Maremma. Performed by Sara Donzelli, the event honors the centenary of Dario Fo’s birth and features the classic monologue addressing the condition of women.
