Italian cultural events honor Palestinian poetry

Italian singer‑songwriter Michele Marchese released the single “Il ritorno del sole” on digital platforms. The song, inspired by Palestinian poet Samih Al‑Qasim, blends contemporary cantautorato, Mediterranean folk and world‑music elements and features musicians such as José Ramón Caraballo, Stefano Scarfone, Sergio Grammatico and Francesco Caprara. It marks the start of a new artistic path that links music, poetry and civil engagement.

On 2 August, the Villa Torlonia park in San Mauro Pascoli hosted the “Giardino della Poesia” concert. The event, organized with the municipality and regional authorities, presented poems by Mahmoud Darwish and other Gaza poets, read in Arabic and Italian and set to classical and rock music by the Banda Amici della Musica and a local rock group. The free‑entry program also included a book stall on Palestinian authors and a culinary tasting by EmmeFood.
