Italian cultural festivals honor Luigi Pirandello legacy

Multiple cultural festivals in Italy are honoring the legacy of Luigi Pirandello through literary and theatrical events.

In Somma Vesuviana, the second edition of the ‘Castello di Carta’ book and publishing festival will take place on September 5 and 6 at the Teatro Summarte. Themed ‘Maschere e sfocature. Nuove identità in movimento’, the event commemorates the centenary of the publication of ‘Uno, nessuno e centomila’ and the 90th anniversary of Pirandello’s death. The program includes workshops, music, and readings for children.

In Turin, the 20th edition of the National Luigi Pirandello Festival will conclude on September 8, 2026, with the Giovanni Graglia Literary Prize. The awards will be presented to Giampaolo Ormezzano, Elena D’Ambrogio, and Arturo Brachetti at the Circolo della Stampa Sporting. The festival concludes with a multimedia production titled ‘Questa sera si recita a Berlino’.
