Italian cultural festivals showcase new documentary films

Several Italian cultural festivals recently featured documentary screenings exploring identity and memory. At the 29th Religion Today Film Festival in Trento, Alberto Valletta’s docufilm, ‘I Panni Stesi nella Fede Quotidiana’, was presented. The film examines how faith is lived daily, specifically highlighting LGBTQ+ perspectives and testimonies from figures such as Sister Fabrizia Giacobbe and members of the Kairos group.

In Pordenone, the 27th edition of the ‘Pordenonelegge’ book festival hosted the screening of ‘In gran segreto. Un racconto familiare su Giorgio Bassani’. Directed by Toni Trupia and produced by Gabriele Manservisi, the documentary explores the life and family relationships of the prominent 20th-century Italian author Giorgio Bassani.
