Italian Cultural Institute launches jazz festival in Prague

The Italian Cultural Institute in Prague is launching the inaugural edition of ‘Italia in jazz’, a festival running from October 9 to 12. The event aims to showcase the diversity and vitality of contemporary Italian jazz to Czech audiences through seven concerts, masterclasses, and artistic residencies.

Scheduled performances will take place at the Institute’s historic Baroque Chapel and the Jazz Club U Staré paní. The festival features a mix of established musicians and new generations, including an opening concert by drummer and composer Roberto Gatto with his Imperfect Trio.

To foster cultural exchange, the program includes educational components involving students from Siena Jazz (Accademia Nazionale del Jazz) and HAMU (Academy of Performing Arts in Prague). Singer and composer Ada Montellanico serves as the festival's godmother.
