Italian cultural season features new theatrical and operatic productions

Various theatrical and operatic productions are scheduled across Italy. In Soverato, the Armonie d’Arte Festival will present “Il modo tuo d’amare,” a multidisciplinary performance directed by Chiara Giordano. The production, a co-production between Dracma – Centro di Produzione Teatrale della Calabria and Armonie d’Arte, explores themes of affection and emotional dependency through prose, poetry, and song, drawing inspiration from the poetry of Pedro Salinas.

In Spoleto, the 80th experimental lyric season of Teatro “A. Belli” concludes with a new production of Gaetano Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore.” Directed by Laura Cosso with musical direction by Carlo Palleschi, the opera will debut at Teatro Nuovo from September 18 to 20. Following the Spoleto performances, the production will embark on a regional tour through Assisi, Perugia, and Città di Castello between September 21 and 25, before the season officially closes in Todi with Henry Purcell’s “Dido and Æneas.”
