Italian cultural sites host special heritage tours and art events
Various cultural heritage sites in Italy are hosting special opening events and guided tours. In Rome, the Fontanone dell'Acqua Paola at the Gianicolo is offering extraordinary access to its private garden. The tour includes views of the Nymphaeum, marble inscriptions dedicated to the heraldic symbols of Pius IX Mastai Ferretti and Sixtus IV, and the site where the Trajan-Paolo aqueduct once distributed water to the city. The monument, constructed between 1610 and 1614, features elements such as marble and granite columns and a sarcophagus.
In Gonzaga, the historical park of Villa Strozzi is undergoing a revitalization project titled ‘Il mondo in un giardino’. Supported by the Fondazione Comunità Mantovana and other regional entities, the two-day event features land art workshops, children's readings, and new artistic installations. The program includes guided tours of works by various artists and musical performances to promote the monumental complex.
