Italian cyclists secure victories in Turkey and Lombardy

Italian cycling teams achieved notable results in recent competitions. Giovanni Lonardi, a sprinter for the Polti-VisitMalta team directed by Ivan Basso, won the second stage of the Tour of Istanbul in Turkey. The 150-kilometer stage, which started and ended in Şile, saw Lonardi win the sprint after his team kept the main group together. This marks Lonardi’s second victory with the team and the sixth seasonal win for Polti-VisitMalta.

In Lombardy, Team Biesse Carrera Premac saw success at the Freccia dei Vini race. Giacomo Villa finished seventh in the Elite category, while Cristian Sanfilippo secured ninth place in the Under 23 category. The race was won by Davide De Cassan of General Store Essegibì Fratelli Curia.
