Italian delegation in Benghazi strengthens Libya‑Italy cooperation

Italian Consul Filippo Colombo and AICS director Isabella Locafieri met with Libyan Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee President Yusuf Al‑Aquri in Benghazi. The talks focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in health, agriculture, fisheries, education, research and legislative exchange, as well as migration, development and economic ties. Both sides pledged to continue consultations, broaden capacity‑building programmes and facilitate citizen movement, aiming to deepen the strategic partnership between Italy and Libya.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to keep working together across all sectors to address shared challenges and reinforce bilateral relations.
