Italian delegations visit southern Santa Catarina to strengthen cultural ties

Italian delegations from the Veneto and Treviso regions recently visited several municipalities in southern Santa Catarina, Brazil, to strengthen historical and cultural ties.

A group of 17 members from the Associazione Bellunesi nel Mondo visited Cocal do Sul to honor the historical connection between the municipality and the Belluno region. The visit included tours of local monuments and the Municipal Museum Venícios Burigo. As part of the cultural exchange, 47 local children who participated in a letter-writing program with Italian students will receive certificates to celebrate their connection to Italian culture.

In Orleans, a delegation from the Associazione Internazionale Trevisani Nel Mondo visited the Princesa Isabel Open-Air Museum and the Barriga Verde University Center (Unibave). The group focused on the Historical Documentation Center Plínio Benício (CEDOHI), which houses documents linking the history of Brazil and Italy. The visitors presented books, music, and a flag to the museum as a gesture of gratitude for the preservation of emigration history.
