Italian Democratic Party criticized over Grosseto water plan as it appoints new communications chief in Ferrara

Senator Simona Petrucci of Fratelli d'Italia denounced a recent Democratic Party (PD) order of the day concerning the Merse river water‑injection project in Grosseto. She argued the plan, already approved and funded by the region, was being used for political posturing, calling the document “a mirror for the larks” and accusing the PD of superficial tactics that ignore the region’s long‑standing water crisis.

In a separate development, the Democratic Party in Ferrara announced the hiring of former parliamentarian Giuditta Pini to head its communication efforts. The party said Pini will coordinate messaging, social‑media activity and overall outreach to make the PD more visible and cohesive at the local level, aiming to improve coordination among party circles and strengthen its presence in the city.
